A Quick History of New Orleans

New Orleans is also known as the Big easy. It is the largest city located in Louisiana and said to be the one of the oldest cities. New Orleans was torn apart by hurricane Katrina in 2005 and was evacuated. Large areas around the city were flooded causing major damage that was caused by the hurricane and all the broken levees.

The city of New Orleans has slowly been returning to normal now that most of the people living there has been returning to the city. There are many good reasons why you would want to visit New Orleans, Louisiana. With the city trying to return to some normalcy, more and more people are visiting the city again each day. This city offers great food, music, culture, heritage and the very famous Mardi Gras celebration.

There are other great things to see and do such as aquariums, museums, gardens, bars and nightclubs to mention a few. New Orleans is a great place to visit and bring your family with all the fun things to see and do.

While visiting the city of New Orleans you can go on a boat ride on the Mississippi River. This is a very popular thing to do for most people that visit the city. These tours provide a lot of information about New Orleans along the way. There are also some historic sites that you will get to explore while on the tour that will be of great interest to you.

You can take a swamp tour in New Orleans if you prefer that will give you an exciting experience. If you enjoy going to museums you can visit the Musee Conti Wax Museum that dates back three centuries with interesting historical information. There is something in this city that people of all ages will enjoy.

You will also enjoy going to the French quarter if you would like to experience all the bars and nightclubs. The New Orleans Mint museum is also a historical place for learning about past history. Others places you may enjoy are the St. Louis Cathedral, Audubon Zoo, Audubon Aquarium New Orleans Museum of Art, National World War II Museum, Jackson Square, Bourbon Street and Mardi Gras.

New Orleans, Louisiana has so much history and culture that there is something that will interest everyone. It is a great place to bring your family to visit and for wonderful holiday or vacation memories.
