You most probably know what a chandelier is. It is usually magnificently designed light that hangs from a ceiling. That is a kind of pendant light, and a chandelier can convey the idea of how pendant lighting works. Pendant lighting, put simply, is a lighting fixture consisting of suspended lights. Pendant lighting is usually attributed to general lighting or task lighting. General lighting refers to the function of the light in generally illuminating a room where it is placed. Task lighting, on the other hand, refers to a more specific kind of providing light. Task lights are usually placed in areas of a particular room, not for the rooms itself. They function to provide sources of light for these particular areas that will seem dim. Lights placed inside a kitchen cabinet, for example, are termed task lighting. This is the kind of lighting we use to carry out tasks more efficiently.

Pendant lighting: the Pros.

Flexible and versatile.
Pendant lighting is a lighting fixture that is both flexible and versatile. This is because it can be placed in almost every room in the house, like the living room, the kitchen, the stairways, the bedrooms and etc. Depending on their size, they can also be put in clusters or in singles. The big pendant lights are usually good for singles, while the smaller ones can have a more chic look by being in clusters.

We have established that pendant lighting fixtures are functional, as they are even commonly used for general and task lighting. This kind of lighting can be uses to serve as island light for a kitchen island or task lights under dim cabinets. The benefits of catering to a pendant lighting fixture, however, do not stop there. Pendant lighting is also aesthetically appealing. With regards to their design, they look chic and stylish and they give off the aura of softness and sparkle.
