The Floods That Can Be Caused By HurricanesBy Aydan Corkern When a hurricane comes, it will bring very strong wind currents that can be up to or over 100 or 175 miles an hours, depending on the severity of the hurricane. It can bring huge or massive amounts of water that will flood towns and cities. It will put houses and buildings under water, and it will also tear them down, too. The water will take the ground piece by piece, and they will be big ones, too. If you are out in it, it will be hard to get out of and it can drag you with the water. Lots of people have seen their house fall right in the water. As the flood takes the ground, it tears the houses down bit by bit or all at one time. It causes huge amounts of mudslides at a time that will flow down the streets, and it will do lots of damage to your towns. It will bring terrible storms and lots of rain and if there is a drought or has been one for a while, the storm will be worst for them. Hurricanes disrupt millions of lives every year, making them evacuate out of their homes and having to find shelter in different cities. Hurricane Katrina hit us bad; it did a lot of damage, and it hurt a lot of people and their lives. We will never forget how bad that storm was and what it did. It had also taught us to prepare for when one comes. Floods can trap you on your house or on your car, and it can take lives within a matter of minutes or it can injure them really bad. We have had so many hurricanes over the recent years that they had to scatter people all over the US just to get them out of there because their homes were under water, and it took a long time for them to get the damage fixed and to repair so many things that were destroyed by the floods of the hurricanes. We all have seen on TV how bad they can get and what they can do. A flood can have oil, gas, sewage, and unwanted mammals, which can be dead when the flood hits the shore, or they can be alive after the hurricane is done. There can be electric charges in the water, which will make it unsafe for anyone to be near.
