Windshield Safety And Why It Is Important!By Jarvis Malone How safe do you think your windshield is? My guess is that you have never thought about it. The truth is, if you have a newer model car, you probably dont need to as newer model cars typically come with super safe windshields. But, if you're rolling on an older car, like most of us, you should think about it, your windshield that is. Having a safe windshield is important. And in a bad situation, it can mean the difference between life and death. The sad part of this story is that when it comes time to replace your windshield, you dont even get a whole lot of choices. If you decide to use your insurance, like most of us will, they will most likely go with a glass network, who typically use their own glass shops. And since there are no laws or regulations when it comes to vehicles that are not new, there is no telling what you might end up with. And I cant speak for you, but I'm no glass expert. So how is someone like me or you supposed to be able to tell if the job was done right, or if a quality windshield was installed? When its all said and done, you really cant. That is why you gotta do your research when it comes to selecting your windshield shop. I would suggest asking some friends for someone they have used personally and have been satisifed with their service. Of course, you can avoid the whole windshield replacement fiasco by just taking care of your windshield in the first place. As far as general maintainence is concerned, there really isnt a whole lot you can do, other then just be smart, like not washing your car after it has been sitting in the hot sun all day. Now, you do need to stay on top of your cracks and chips because those can turn into bigger cracks and chips which will then result in the dreaded replacement of your windshield. Remember, windshield replacement is a big time money and time hog. Now, as far as finding a good repair shop, try to find a Novus glasss repair shop. Why would I recommend Novus? They can perform windshield repairs at your home or office in as little as 30 minutes or so. And were not talking about some crappy quick-fix either.
